WILLIAM HAWKSWORTH

V O C A L S
My old man taught me how to play guitar when I was 15 years old. I began writing melodies and lyrics before I could even play chords all that well. That's when I realized that I could sing too.

I spent the first few years writing songs and searching for the right musicians to form an original music project. I never really had any desire to be in a cover band although I spent many years making extra cash doing solo acoustic gigs. Several bands came and went, some good, some not so good. In my previous project 8ight Past Nine with co-frontman and songwriter Kevin Jarvis, who I had worked with in other projects previously, was probably the first band formed that I can truly say I was proud of. That's when I met Chuck Arsenault and Todd Kidd and knew that they'd be key members to my future musical endeavors. After a good 2 year run with 8ight Past Nine and releasing 1 full length album, myself, Todd and Chuck decided we wanted something more edgy and experimental, and that's when KING MISFIT was born.

My earliest musical influences were classics like Led Zeppelin, Creedance Clearwater Revival, Pink Floyd, Heart, The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac and many more, which were always in rotation on my Father's stereo. Throughout grade school I was into Guns & Roses & Def Leppard. I became a big Alice In Chains fan in high school and they are still one of my favourite bands today. Other bands that have had a big impact on me are Avenged Sevenfold, Porcupine Tree, Radiohead, Dream Theater, Tool, Chevelle, Muse, Metallica and the list goes on and on...

The gear I currently use is the TC Helicon Voice Live 2, Westone In-Ears and any high quality vocal microphone.
